недавно мне стало известно что Richard A. Ingram в рамках Oceansize известный как "Gambler" имеет свой эмбиент проект. первый альбом он выпустил еще в прошлом году, но это был cdr записаный и выпущеный своими силами, поэтому мы и не знали о его существовании, а вот в этом году уже на лейбле White Box Recordings вышел "Consolamentum", хотя я много эмбиента не слушаю, по-моему это отличная работа. первый альбом найти не удалось.

среди своих влияний выделяет: Ben Frosr, Alva Noto, http://www.neformat.com.ua/forum/oth...rik-satie.html, http://www.neformat.com.ua/forum/ele...9-fennesz.html, Porn Sword Tobacco, http://www.neformat.com.ua/forum/roc...k-buttons.html, Peter Broderick...а в симиларах на ласте при 714-ти прослушиваниях, уже числятся многоуважаемые Swod и Hauschka.

"Consolamentum' is not 'a score for a film not yet written', nor is it ambient 'drift' designed to soundtrack some nebulous void between waking and sleeping - current and lazy 'ambient music' tropes are inapplicable to this (and any) music so demanding of attention. 'Consolamentum' could be classed as some form of 'acoustic doom', perhaps some form of drone based music, but it is none of these things; it exists entirely in a realm of its own"

Ingram is the first of the Manchester-based outfit to release a solo album, and it treads an entirely different musical route. Checking Ingram’s MySpace page, one encounters influences like Ben Frost and Fennesz, and even if they weren’t explicitly stated by the man himself, one would’ve definitely guessed these two in particular upon listening to Consolamentum. It borrows the meticulously crafted ambient soundscapes from the Austrian and combines it with the unsettling digital manipulation of the Australian, but in a more acoustic setting and with an approach that Ingram could definitely call his own. It reveals itself as a very honest work of art; he doesn’t allow the production techniques used to block the vast array of emotions on show here.

'Richard A. Ingram has created a fascinating piece of experimental work, which, despite its minimal settings, is rich in textures. He is here very much in control of his music and of the moods he manipulates, and convincingly assembles them to carry his narrative from one end of the record to the other'
