Я узнал об этой группе летом прошлого года, когда мне посчастливилось пообщаться и увидеть парней живьем на MHM-2011. И то, что я увидел мне дико понравилось - видео с этого концерта я разместил ниже, а дополнительные лайвы ищите на ютубе группы. И вот все это время я ждал релиза дебютного альбома группы, который, наконец, состоялся сегодня. И это символично, ведь ровно 26 лет назад, в этот же день, произошел взрыв на Чернобыльской АЭС. Все участники группы выросли в месте, которое отражает реальность наших дней - древние леса, болота и речки окружены тремя ядерными объектами времен Советского Союза, один из которых и взорвался, оставив бессмертный шрам на нашей планете и в душах шестерых молодых парней. Вот и вся музыка их пропитана обреченностью и древним величием и могуществом. Вышел альбом на небезызвестном лейбле code666 и получил уже немало положительных и очень положительных обзоров в прессе. И ведь есть почему! Материал просто шикарный, мощный, разноплановый, должен понравиться как любителям блэк-метала, так и поклонникам музыки медленнее и атмосфернее (особенно вторая половина альбома и трилогия "Под Снегом" в частности). Образовалась группа в 2009-м и в ее состав входят участники некоторых других хороших коллективов из Ровно.
Альбом очень рекомендую всем скачать и послушать, треков для онлайн ознакомления пока нет, а сам альбом залит к нам на сервак эксклюзивно, так что не теряйте момент и обязательно пишите свои впечатления! Я лично релиз очень ждал и остался крайне доволен. Теперь хочется только еще пару раз увидеть Agruss живьем. Приятного прослушивания! \m/

Если так сложилось, что я люблю яблоки, я не обязан разбираться во всех фруктах. Мне дают фрукт, обещая яблоко, я пробую и уверенно говорю, что это не яблоко, вот и всё. А маракуйи я не ем. %) Не хочу выглядеть смешно, пытаясь неуверенно оперировать терминами типа сладж и металкор, но этого там реально не меньше, если не больше, кмк, чем метал-составляющей. И всё это по современному звучанию и современным же тенденциям смешивания этих звучаний медленный дэзкор. Не, я слился, короче.

Black metal music is typically associated with icy cold conditions; whether that is based on the reaction by listeners to the general aesthetic of the sound, or it comes from a common subject matter of the songs, or perhaps even just a mental association stemming from the northern location of many of the better-known progenitors of the genre, or whether that location had influenced those early bands to use the particular subject matter and/or aesthetics that they did — all of that could be subject to debate, I suppose, but the fact remains that to most people, black metal is equated with a barren, frozen, wintry landscape. Agruss’ debut LP Morok is no exception, yet it evokes the idea of a somewhat different type of winter…

Sea of Tranquility:
Amid the wave of atmospheric black metal albums emerging from the underground arises the sinister sounds of the Ukraine's Agruss. Their atmospheric epics are tinged with melancholy, pain, suffering, and an unhealthy overdose of the wrath of a thousand hellish hounds with the scent of rotting flesh in their nostrils. The galloping black metal that stampedes across the album is fleshed out with death metal riffs, torturous atmospherics, and a vocal that, as with the instrumental assault, is utterly ruthless. Melodic lines clash with jarring chords and ragged riffs, doom and chaos ascend, and Agruss kick the shit out of every genre that they have dragged screaming into their demonic domain. And the simultaneous use of both death and black styles is ingenious, particularly in 'Ashes of the Future', a track so ferocious that a disclaimer should precede it.

Ave Noctum:
The weird thing is none of this gets stale or samey; the crust, death, black and grind hybrid crawling and then attacking from diseased wasteland scrub is so lively, so well constructed that it sucks you in. Technical yes but also covered in thick black crust that occasionally reminds me of bits of Highgate in amongst all the rest. The vocals are outstanding throughout; the high screams part black metal, part grindcore, the guttural deep mutterings beneath a bitter undertow, the occasional sinister chants like spectres just beyond the light

Компетентнейшая пресса, конечно.
Хотя Металсторм и Металглори ещё более-менее терпимо и объективно написали.
Но в целом все одного поля ягоды. И метод перенасыщения претенциозными эпитетами - неплохая вуаль, за которой перед лицом большинства аудитории удаётся припрятать собственное бессилие изложить суть. Что, в целом, вполне понятно, учитывая желание авторов охватить широкие диапазоны выбранного направления, выдерживая периодичность и актуальность. Желание, превышающее фактические возможности.

Слушаю наконец-то альбом. Очень круто. Я бы не стал заморачиваться на тегодрочерстве, т.к. ребята играют действительно разноплановое зло. Соглашусь с Игорем, на брейкдауны совсем не обращаешь внимание. Особенно понравилась тема "Fire, the Savior from Plague" с вставкой из "Письмо мертвого человека" Хочу на их концерт.
