Биография
Charles Rowell и Brandon Welchez встретились еще подростками в Сан-Диего, Калифорния. В Апреле 2008 ребята объединились в дуэт и назвались Crocodiles. Дебютный альбом Crocodiles, Summer of Hate, был записан за зиму этого же года и выпущен в 2009-м на лейбле Fat Possum. Резкий стук электронных барабанов и гул гитары соперничает с мелодичным вокалом, погружая слушателя в одурманенный наркотиками шум и эхо.

Кажется, что ребята взяли все самое лучшее от других групп и записали диск, ведь очень уж что-то напоминает. Но в общем это удачный дебют, альбом оказался лакомством, прослушал с удовольствием.

Блин, такую тему пропустил! Их альбом стал для меня одним из самых прослушиваемых в начале этого лета. Это лучший из многочисленных клонов Jesus & Mary Chain 2000-х. I Wanna Kill можно слушать до бесконечности.

Hipster appeal notwithstanding, Crocodiles are more than just a band with the right sound at the right time. Under their raw demeanor, they're surprisingly adept at creating sweet melodies. "I Want to Kill," the "Just Like Honey" of the album, grinds nihilistically over a sugary pop hook that recalls the Crystals, and wild swirling feedback propels the mesmerizing seven-minute wash of "Young Drugs." -- AMG
