A Perfect Circle
(англ. идеальная окружность) — американская рок-группа, играющая альтернативный рок.

История:

Группа была основана Билли Хаурделом - гитарным техником, работавшим с Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Fishbone, Guns N' Roses и Tool. Мэйнард Джеймс Кинэн, вокалист Tool, услышав демо записи Билли, сказал что, если тот создаст группу, то он готов стать их вокалистом. Хаурдел после некоторых сомнений согласился, несмотря на то, что сначала хотел чтобы в группе был женский вокал. Mer de Noms (1999-2001)

После серии репетиций и выступлений на разогреве у других команд, APC начинают записывать студийный альбом "Mer de Noms" (фр. Море имен). Тим Александр вскоре был заменён Джошем Фрисом из The Vandals, однако в песне "The Hollow" все ещё можно услышать игру Тима. Thirteenth Step / eMOTIVe (2002-2005)

К записи второго альбома A Perfect Circle готовились уже без двух своих музыкантов: Пэз Леншантин и Троя ван Льюена. Пэз присоединилась к группе Zwan, а Трой - к Queens of the Stone Age. Однако Леншантин к тому времени записала почти все партии для бас-гитары для нового альбома. Перерыв (с 2006 по сей день)

Сейчас будущее A Perfect Circle остаётся неясным. В интервью французскому журналу "Rock Hard" Кинэн сказал, что считает APC завершённым проектом и в обозримом будущем изменений не предвидится. Билли Хаурдел подтвердил его слова и сказал, что не планирует записи нового альбома или концертных туров.

На официальном сайте A Perfect Circle можно увидеть запись датированную 19-м сентября 2006 г: "Спящий должен пробудиться! Привет! Извините, некоторое время от нас не было вестей. Были заняты. Билли погружён в работу над сольным проектом, а я гастролирую с TOOL, работаю над сайтом www.puscifer.com и ещё ко всему прочему делаю вино. Не могу сказать когда Билли закончит записывать новый материал, но я слышал многообещающие прогнозы. Я забыл опубликовать тексты песен с "13th step" и "eMOTIVe", я этим скоро займусь. Так что заходите почаще. Пока!"

мне команда нравится намного больше основного проекта вокалера (не знаю, как звать, я именами не увлекаюсь, только музыкой=).
С первым альбомом я детально не знакомился, а вот второй - без преувеличения - шедевр!!! такой проникающей в мозг музыки я не слышал... очень красиво, грустно и страшно... вот только больше одного раза подряд я альбом не могу слушать...
Кто еще въехал в их музыку? понравилось, нет? пишем, не стесняемся, желательно, больше одного слова =)

A Perfect Circle announce Stone And Echo

- Stone And Echo, a full-length DVD (with accompanying audio CD) featuring the band’s stirring Aug. 11, 2011 performance at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater
- Trifecta, a multi-disc collection featuring the band’s complete discography, Mer de Noms, Thirteenth Step and eMOTIVe, recorded live during A Perfect Circle’s handful of three-night, full-album performances. The 2010 performances, the first outings from the band since their self-imposed 2005 hiatus, were limited to Phoenix, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
- Bonus tracks include live performances of “By and Down,” “Ashes to Ashes” and “Diary of a Love Song”
- Five hand selected lithographs featuring the personal signatures of both Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel on one of the selected prints
- Custom sculpted resin frame designed by the band
- A custom made guitar pick designed by Billy Howerdel and exclusive to this offering
- The collection is bound in a custom-made media book containing artwork and credits

RELEASE INCLUDES “BY AND DOWN,” A PERFECT CIRCLE’S FIRST NEW, ORIGINAL STUDIO RECORDING IN A DECADE

A Perfect Circle issue THREE SIXTY, the band’s first greatest hits collection, via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) on Nov. 19.

The release also includes A Perfect Circle’s first new original, studio recording in a decade with the inclusion of “By And Down,” a song written after the band returned from their self-imposed hiatus for a series of live performances throughout 2010 and 2011.

"Billy and I created A Perfect Circle out of a now long-running friendship, and I think the music we have made reflects that personal connection and has given us the ability to further develop and trust our intuition,” explained Keenan. “I feel THREE SIXTY is an accurate representation of that friendship and those instincts."

A Perfect Circle also recently announced the release of a limited edition box set titled A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone And Echo. The collection, which focuses on the band’s live outings from 2010-2011 includes a full-length DVD of the outfit’s August 2011 Red Rock’s concert (with accompanying audio) as well as a 3-cd collection of live releases, one dedicated to each of the three studio albums from the band’s discography. Also included in the box are five lithographs (with one signed by Howerdel and Keenan) and a custom resin frame designed by the band. The collection is available on Nov. 26, with more information available below.

- I hope to, but I know Maynard is in full Tool mode right now. They’re writing a new record, and I have given him some songs that maybe he’s going to look at, but I don’t know how he does with juggling those things at the same time. I’d like to get an APC record underway. But I don’t know – I’m just leaving it up to him and what his schedule allows. I’ll be there when he’s available.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, A PERFECT CIRCLE guitarist Billy Howerdel revealed at a live interview with singer Maynard James Keenan on Monday night (November 21) in Los Angeles that A PERFECT CIRCLE will tour next year and has been working on new songs. Keenan concurred, adding that the band will also perform at the Hollywood Bowl on May 7, 2017.
