Биография

Hollow Earth are the officially sanctioned musical section of the Societé de la Terre Creuse, gatekeepers of the secret world of Shambhallah, financing the organisation's educational work through the powerful mass medium of Psychedelic Rock.

“There's a salty tang in the air of early British Progressive rock, some King Crimson perhaps, some Spring, some Canterbury. The organ and strings, and the at times slightly sinister mood, remind me a little of the Crazy World of Arthur Brown…” – Daniel Dellamorte, music historian

The members of Hollow Earth seem to be in a some kind of a cult, self-styled 'gatekeepers of Shambhallah,' whatever that means. Their chapter was ostensibly founded by Nicholas Roerich in Naggar, in the Himalayas, in the 1930s, and they are ‘perpetually championing the truth against those who believe in a solid—and to a lesser extent also those who believe in a flat—Earth,’ according to the third edition of the Encyclopedia of Global Cults and Religions*.

Their sectarian leanings are only circumstantially evident in the music on this disc—all these years, they must have listened far more to their Deep Purple and Pink Floyd records than the words of their cult leader. The result of this clandestine musical necromancy is full-blown Progressive Rock with solid Psychedelic underpinnings. Several years in the making, it is easily the most ambitious release from K2 to date.

Curiously, it also states: “In 1968, the Northern Europe chapter of the Society decided to finance their missionary and propaganda activities by forming a Psychedelic music group, a major trend in popular music at the time. As the writing of the introductory pamphlet stalled due to stylistic and geological differences among the members, the project was delayed, but almost fifty years later, in the 2010s, the project was finally greenlighted. The cult declared themselves ready to take on the world with Psychedelic Rock, thus financing their big push.”

On Hollow Earth's 'Out Of Atlantis' influences from 1969-1972-era Deep Purple are combined with some distinctly Canterbury styled moves.
The members of Hollow Earth belong to a secretive cult, and are thus unable to give away their true identities. What they can do, however, is to play rock music in the vein of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and King Crimson.

Очень серьезные ребята из Швеции. Думаю одно это предложение уже как бы кое о чем да говорит. О группе на самом деле практически ничего не известно. Известно лишь что они являються членами какого-то оккультного тайного общества ордена "Хранителей Врат Шамбалы" или что-то типа того. Короче и пожалуй еще известно что они являються соотечествениками и собратьями по лейблу с такими группами как Agusa, Yuri Gagarin, Walrus. Я так понимаю Out of Atlantis это их дебютная пластинка? Если это так то это просто МЕГА дебют и очень серьезная заявка на титул "Альбом Года". Сама же музыка в отличии скажем от той же Агусы (особенно крайнего их на данный момент альбома) очень богатая и разнообразная в плане аранжировок и материала. Звучание очень сочное и дымчато-винтажное, характерное Кэнтерберийской прог-рок сцены конца 60х начала 70х годов. В материале сабжа присутствуют как тяжелые психоделические джемы и инструменталки так и сверх-мелодичные почти медитативные вещи и отрезки с просто волшебными клавишными и убаюкивающим гармоничным вокалом. В целом прослеживаються влияния\нотки таких старых и новых групп как Gong, Soft Machine, Caravan, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Eloy, Astra, Agusa, Tarot (Australia), Iron Butterfly, etc. Очень качественная пластинка от очень хороших музыкантов выдержанная в духе вечной классики! Настоятельно рекомендую всем меломанам прогрессивщикам и психодельщикам! Альбом достоин самых высоких мест в годовом ТОПе, имхо.
