"Terraplane from Wernigerode Germany existed from 2000 to 2007. Founded by Christian Oelke (vocals, bass, rhythm guitar) and Christian Peters (lead guitar) with several line-up changes. Most persistant drummer was Andreas Herbst, who completed the original line up as a three-piece when most songs have been created.

We tried our best and had a lot of fun. Some shows were cool. Some were rather shitty. Sometimes we argued. Many times after rehearsals we talked to 3 in the night and longer. We were young. Guess we thought we´d conquer the world, but we didn´t. We had the "Into The Unknown" album on the Nasoni label, which made us very happy even if we didn´t earn much more than 50 bucks with it. We gave most of them free copies to friends and relatives, because no one else was interested. But that´s how it goes.

What most people don´t know is that before there were almost ten selfreleased CD-Rs and even two other albums which were "Orange Sunshine" and "Psychedelic Wonderland". Unfortunately the soundquality wasn´t always that good because we couldn´t afford studio rents and all depended on destiny, luck or money."

От себя добавлю - незаслуженно обделённый вниманием, замечательный стонер-психоделик коллектив.
Очень жаль, что группы больше нет, но здорово, что по крайней мере, у одного её бывшего участника
со второй попытки всё получилось значительно удачнее (в плане популярности).
Я говорю о бывшем лид-гитаристе Terraplane и нынешнем лидере Samsara Blues Experiment Кристиане Питерсе.

Группы, играющие в схожем стиле: Samsara Blues Experiment (ещё бы ), Colour Haze, Sgt. Sunshine...

Into The Unknown замечательный альбом. Второй не слушал, но почитав бэндкэмп, уже понятно что это вовсе и не альбом.

По-моему, неважно, полноценный это альбом или так сказать "лучшее из толком не изданного" - там всё равно очень классные песни,
в частности Rub-al-Khali и первая часть Moonflower Blues (Moonflower Blues Part II - на Into The Unknown).
Послушай обязательно!

This first full album was written and recorded in 2004/2005 in a small town in the middle of nowhere, rural Germany. We basically had no clue what we were doing here... So yes, this is very Lo-Fi!

Done in our early 20s and without either much money, nor experience both for recording and playing in a band. Previously we had to face several problems with the rented studio-space and engineer, which forced us to do this on our own with a Tascam taperecorder and a very basic computerprogram for the overdubs, but really only out of necessity. If anybody have had given us some recording money or lend a more professional ear to this, who knows what this would have sounded like.

So, this is why we give it away for free, or a donation if you will. I still believe that some of the songs have had really great moments and were special in their own ways.
