. Первый же альбом - чуть не то, поэтому мне лично не так интересен. А еще эта группа затегана на ластфм как "бородакор" ("beardcore") 
.To create a balance of imposing riffs with majestic beauty is something many bands aim to create, but only a small majority actually manage to succeed in accomplishing. The Mirimar Disaster triumphantly belong in the latter category. This is what they do.
Residing in the Sheffield - the Steel City of the North (home of metal greats Bring Me The Horizon, rock legends Def Leppard and post-rock pioneers 65daysofstatic) - The Mirimar Disaster are rapidly becoming one of the UK’s most intense live propositions.
Now comes the arrival of the band’s debut self-titled album is a truly stunning piece of modern rock and experimental metal. Produced by Alan Smythe (65daysofstatic, Future Ex-Wife, The Long Blondes), it’s the end product of two years hard work – with a variety of influences, seeing the quintet develop into a unique, driven, tour de force of modern extremity.
Clocking in at over an hour ‘The Mirimar Disaster’ insists on captivating the listener with a steady mix of hungry riffs, urgent vocals and a thunderous rhythm section. Just check out the likes of opener of ‘Persius’, ‘Scenario’ and ‘Let Them Stay Behind’ to witness a band that dart between monolithic slabs of brutality and hypnotising, sometimes haunting musical soundscapes.
Taking their moniker from an 80s seminal Tom Cruise homo-erotic airborne flick, the Mirimar Disaster’s songs deal with the trails and tribulations of everyday conflict – the album’s imagery created by Phlegm Comics (www.phelgmcomics.com) – and tips its hat at the said movie – in a twisted way, of course!
In 2006 The Mirimar Disaster toured with and played shows with a diverse mix of bands - 65daysofstatic, The Ghost Of A Thousand, Baroness, Pelican, Send More Paramedics, These Arms Are Snakes, Knut, Torche, Cult of Luna, 3 Stages of Pain and Raging Speedhorn.
Now in 2007 and the release of their debut album – The Mirimar Disaster intend to show people just how sonically challenging music can actually be.

На самом деле оба релиза внимание превлекают: первый - какой-то чистой агрессией, второй - какой-то зрелостью, что ли. Одноименный трек с ипишки просто шикарный. Но! Мне показалось, что отношения между прогрессивом и сладжом в альбоме негармоничные 
Чуть ли не с заплывами в мазафаку местами. А вот ипишка слишком гладкая вышла( Им бы на ней энегрию добавить, и был бы просто фантастический релиз. Но это моё частное мнение, к тому же после одного прослушивания. Я бы даже так сказала: в целом мне понрвилось, но в частностях осталась в растерянности. Хотелось бы услышать мнения специалистов)))
