Трио из Копенгагена . Группа сформировалась в начале первой декады 21-ого века . Имя коллектива явилось скрещенным плодом названий с альбомов Джона Колтрейна и Sun Ra. Инфа по группе черезвычайно скудна . Известно , что группа в основном выступала в качестве саппорта для заезжих и местных "звезд" , типа Grails , Electric Moon , Causa Sui , и участвовала местных псих-фестах . Начиная с 2010 и по 2015 год , Mythic Sunship ,тем не менее , записали три полноформата , и только после этого команда попалась на удочку Якоба Скотта (Jakob Skøtt) из Causa Sui , одного из соучредителей El Paraiso Records:pray::pray:. Таким образом группа записала свой четвертый альбом под названием " OUROBOROS " , который , в принципе, даёт надежду этой талантливой банде на прорыв за границы собственного королевства.

По музыке скажу коротенько : Mythic Sunship играют эмоциональный психоделик-джем рок с заходами спейс-рок . Поскольку , в группе отсутствует бас и наличествуют две гитары и ударные, общий саунд получается нежирный , звонкий и слегка размытый , что добавляет психа :hare: . Вобщем , в ревью на El Paraiso их роднят с Amon Düül II, Earthless, Guru Guru, Travellin’ Flower Band :deal:

The zenith of anaconda rock!

On their third album Mythic Sunship takes their deepest dive yet! Their own brand of wobbly Boogie Doom reaches new dimension of pure Sabbath-like proportions! Yet there’s also a new state of refined inner space. Mythic Sunship doesn’t only know how to let it rip and let loose - they are also masters of knowing when to turn down and zone out.

The restless, manic beat of Frederik Denning rides on a dense blanket of fuzz from Rasmus Cleve’s bass. This rhythm section flows the ground for epic stoner sagas. Leaving ample space for the fuzzy, shimmering and downright crushing dual guitar excursions of Emil Thorenfeldt and Kasper Stougaard.

Upheaval is the apex of the band’s journey so far. Mythic Sunship sounds mature and unified like never before on this set, but also maintaining their raw searching edge. it’s a culmination and refinement of their idea: the ethos of free jazz in a doom setting.

Нашел в качестве :up: , плюс добавил от себя бонус-композицию записанную в то же время и опубликованную на сборнике рекорд-лейбла , выпустившего этот альбом.

Mythic Sunship’s sound has been described as “the ethos of free jazz in a doom setting”. On this 2xLP set, recorded and mixed in the studio of Causa Sui’s Jonas Munk’s, the band goes even further and let’s saxophone burn into the mix. It’s a wildfire of ideas that travel far on a smoky haze of cosmic krautrock, stoner, doom, heavy psych, modal jazz and even drifts into afrobeat! Jonas Munk joins these live sessions on guitar on a few tracks as well, making up a screaming cacophony of 3 guitars, bass, drums and saxophone.
Aptly titled “Another Shape of Psychedelic Music”, this is just not a record of psychedelic music. It’s also an album about psychedelic music. The very fabric of psych music seems to materialize in all its shapes and sizes and then vaporize right in front of your ears as the album burns further towards the final groove. Few bands would be able to pull this off, but Mythic Sunship maintain a down-to-earth melted vibe, even at their most ferocious. Making this album good both for zoning out as well as for pure rock catharsis.

Класс. Чем-то Vespero и The Landing местами напоминает, только помедленнее и погуще звук :up:

Mythic Sunship sounds like their band name implies they would – free wheelin' and jazzy as hell with just enough distortion to add a nice crunch. You'll see what I mean shortly with our premiere of the band's brand new single "Maelstrom".

“After a bunch of albums on a local label, we wanted to reinvent ourselves for this release while still being unmistakably Mythic Sunship. We wanted to rock!" said the band about their coming album Wildfire.

"So, we rented a studio, jammed for several days straight and teamed up with Danish punk legend Per Buhl Acs behind the mixing deck to really push the boundaries of our sound. 'Maelstrom' is the prime example of this approach with its wild outbursts of energy feeding a jam, fueling and intensifying until it explodes!”

Блин, вот за что они так :mad:! Свели так, что альбом физически больно слушать.
Индикатор перегруза все 45 минут горит красным, а гитара с саксофоном просто насилуют барабанные перепонки.
 
punknotyet, так вроде же "Another Shape of Psychedelic Music" уже такой был, не?
 
Та не, Another Shape гораздо более гуманно звучит, насколько я помню, а тут прям совсем жесть, особенно в "Maelstrom" и "Going Up".
