Иконы японского андеграунда Corrupted производят монотонный, тягостный, медленный death/doom металл и прочую музыку в том же стилистическом русле, что и Earth, Boris и Sunn O))). Группа сформировалась в Осаке приблизительно в 1994 году; в состав этой отшельнической команды входят вокалист Хэви, гитарист Тэблот, клавишник Такехито, басист Джоз, ударник Чу.

Вся эта банда успела выпустить непомерное количество синглов, мини-альбомов, сплин-дисков и "полнометражек" за годы своего существования (включая Paso Inferior (1997), Llenando de Gusanos (1999), и Se Hace por los Suenos Asesinos(2004)), при этом всегда руководствуясь своими собственными принципами. Это подразумевает под собой презрение всего, даже отдаленно напоминающего рок-звездность, создание текстов на испанском по непонятным причинам, отказ от рекламы и фотосессий (фанам остается довольствоваться любительскими фотографиями с концертов).

В добавок к этой бескомпромисной репутации, Corrupted выпустили 70-минутный сет в качестве своего четвертого альбома под названиемr El Mundo Frio (2005).

Давно хотел создать тему об этой группе, да всё никак руки не доходили. Ну что Вам сказать? Их часто называют "богами японского сладжа", хотя, я считаю, что правильнее было бы "японскими богами сладжа". Больше 10 лет на сцене - никаких вью, никакого мерча, никаких фотосессий, только музыка. Несчетное количество сплитов с самыми разнообразными командами, от сладжеров типа Grief до грайндкорщиков.

советую ознакомится с музыкой тем, кто считает группы типа Dimlaia, Amenra, COL, Minsk, Overmars, Transmission0 - сладжем. Послушайте "поврежденных" и почувствуйте разницу между сладжем и пост-металом.
Очень рекомендую скачать альбом (выше ссылка) El Mundo Frio (длительностью 72 минуты) и попытаться прослушать его от начала и до конца.

В общем, есть хорошие новости и плохие:

Both original members Hevi and Talbot left the band, but only after the recording. Chew is the only original member now moving on, but I believe the band still has added guitarist and bassist Katsumi and Mark who were on the last US tour in 2008, so they have at least been in the band for awhile along with the two who have departed. I'm expected the new stuff to sound much like the most vast tripped out sound they had recently live, and on the vasana and An Island Insane 7"s released awhile ago.

This is the final album by "original" CORRUPTED featuring 3 tracks, total 63 minutes. But ”garden of unconsciousness” should have existed from the early hardcore approaching days of CORRUPTED. The reason is not clear, but definitely what was going on was not progression, nor development but seeking and recurrence. So the fact is that the beat on this album is most calm, gentle, and transparent than ever. And this paradoxical evolution form is nothing but the result of huge studio works, mixing thousands of feedbacks and guitar overtones like constructing the three dimensional architecture. The remarkable point of this 3 track hour of suit is that this album totally transcends our usual sense of time. Like feeling a minute & a second like infinity, and feeling 60 minutes & 360 seconds like moment...... this transcending sense can be described as the sense of liberation from material and life through music. So first of all, let's experience this album and expose the lies of our "given life". At last, as many may already know, the vocalist Hevi and guitarist Talbot left the group after recording of this album and 17 years of activities since 1994. Now CORRUPTED has a new singer Taiki (ex- FREEDOM, DIABOLIC ART) stepping forward to another unknown level. Like inviting us to another garden of unconsciousness...

Это, кажется, не та группа, которая куда-то двигается: у них темы строились и развивались годами, к этому звучанию они шли очень постепенно и после El Mundo Frio и коллаборэйшина с Asunder я, например, не ждал ничего другого, кроме огромного акустического полотна с уже некачовыми утяжелениями.

На самом деле пацаны очень смачно подытожили. Мне очень понравилось.

Та не, ничего не может быть злее подачи после вступления и месива 27 минуты ЭМФ.

Как раз из-за лоу-файности коллаборэйшина и кажется, что он злее. Тяжелые куски там вполне "унылые" и в целом тема полностью размеренная и ненапряжная (как мне кажется).
