DAVID (A RETURN TO HOPE)
Tired of hearing someone say, Where all fucked
and we're just sitting and waiting, to wither and die,
Nothing ever changes so why even try?
Life boiled down to an end result,
and all the moments before are just a cruel joke
the world likes to play on you, you're not in control,
there's nothing you can do.
But what a boring life, hating every day,
and what a sible mind, with nothing to say,
I didn't know how to word it,
back when we wrote "Appleseeds",
how to describe the only thing we need.
"A Return to Hope".
A return to hope. and return to life,
a return to a place and a state of mind,
where instead of tearing down, we build back up,
our community, outlook, and what surrounds us.
To embrace life, and let love in,
sling shot and stone, this is where it beings,
don't let the world swallow you whole,
there's nothing strong about being callous and cold,
because you'll develop a dependency,
that feeds on apathy.
and you'll travel this world endlessly,
forever feeling unredeemed.
but know: Love resolves, and kindness heals,
compassion grows, but hatred is filling us, with fear.
Love shows.
THIS IS THE ANGRY PT.3
So here we go, third time's a charm,
this is a call to arms, let's sound the alarm.
Because we've become, A rebellion cut, to fix,
and I refuse to be the sound track to it.
So this is the angry 3.
We've been damaged,
once out of step, now perfectly in stride,
But you can't take it away from me,
can't take my pride.
What we make of this energy, still means everything,
there's still a use, it's all worth something.
cause I still see, a growing force, of change,
Within this defiance, So this is the angry 3,
So you're tired of hearing us moan and complain?
Now that's what holds us down.
But I'm not saying we should start again,
because I know, in the end.
We're not the first, (I hope) we're not the last,
That's a promise.
For 33 years, we wrote this song,
and for the last 12, well I sang along.
So here's your warning, it happens tonight.
You bet you're life, there's gonna be a fight.
This is more than a sound, This is more than a genre,
Is is more than a phase. this is the angry.
STITCHES
We will not be ruled by fear,
we will not be ruled by you.
"snitches get stitches" is what you say,
to save your ass and make the victims pay,
families and lives thrown by the way side,
you'd have nothing to fear if you had nothing to hide.
So fuck your stitches I'm gonna do what's right.
It's your ass that's on the line, not mine.
A DAY NO PIGS WOULD DIE
Gentle, were the hands of the butcher,
another day of work for him,
as he wields death with precision,
the pig's soul is dead and gone,
for the body there's still work to be done,
but it's just another day for him,
We're so disconnected from what we eat,
and it's removed so we can't see,
to effect the way we feel.
Money plants the seed, on indifference it breeds,
so greedy mouths can feed.
But I feel we have a responsibility,
to speak out for those that are unable to.
And I dream, we dream, that one day we'll see....
A day, no pigs would die.
We need to think about what we eat.
ALIVE
This isolation will eat you, before the cold takes a bite,
as you watch all your friends, say their last goodnight.
This mountain here is my home, I do what I can to get by
this is no place for weakness, This is no place to cry,
But conversations are empty, conversations are empty....
It's your stomach that chatters at night,
the hunger gets so heavy.
No matter now small the rations, it just wouldn't last me.
Breathe to know you're alive, Bite by bite you survive,
Forget your friends, forget how to laugh,
forget your life, this is what you have left. Bit by bite.
Breathe to know you're alive, living just to survive,
There's no more option to grow old,
just two choices: Hunger or cold?
This mountain here's my home, I do what I can to get by,
but I pray god brings and avalanche,
pray he breathes a storm,
it's cold remnants will bury us here,
and I can be unborn.
Breathe to know your alive, doesn't take long to realize,
you're only living, up here in this hell,
so you don't don't die, cold and unknown.
So if you make the first cut, I'll take the first bite,
take the glass in your hand, the dead don't put up a fight.
This is who I am,
This is what I did,
This is me, alive.
WHEN WE FIGHT
You're searching for the wrong solutions,
You're trying you wag the dog,
You didn't let the sleeping pup lie,
now we're going to bite your hand off.
Because peace is free, but we just can't afford it,
so we pay for a war, well I'm not buying it.
We're not buying it.
is the money that you make,
worth the lives that you take,
another PR stunt, an for an Osama witch hunt.
a villain you'll never find, disillusion's your alibi,
as you say "let freedom ring you pull in like a storm and bring the rain down.
There's something wrong with the world we live in
when so many gifted human beings
are thrown into such a complex
it's time we put a stop to this, it's why we fight.
TO FACE A FEAR
We have a head
We have a heart
We have a mind
We have a voice,
but sometimes, it's hard to tell those things apart.
This a story of a guy I once knew,
names aren't important, but you might know him too,
He acts out of passion, and now out of fear,
always willing to let his heart steer him.
Cause sometimes the easiest choice to make,
is the one that's the biggest mistake,
and sometimes it's easy to shut your mouth,
when you know how it's gonna turn out.
but he didn't live by those rules,
in his head there was nothing to choose,
all the muscles in the world couldn't stop,
him from voicing what he felt and thought.
There was no decision to make,
there was only path to take,
and it meant he had to be strong,
in order to tell the world what he thought was wrong.
But some people knew they had big fists,
and they just couldn't tolerate this,
they just couldn't let it go,
when they felt they had something to show.
To them his life was in debt,
so they gave him the ultimate threat,
and on the worst, the worst of all days,
they pulled him aside to say.
I know some people, that you don't want to fuck with,
I have some friends, that you don't want to see.
You made your choice, you made your bed,
now lay in it kid, or in a moment, I'll see you dead.
Take what you want, but take my advice,
I'll tell you now, I'm staying right here,
I'll tell the world, I'm standing strong.
Now you know some people, that I am gonna fuck with, and you have some friends, that I am gonn see.
You can break my bones,
and break my body and stop my heart,
but you can never break my thoughts.
So do what you want, fuck your advice,
I'll live in this town, for my whole life.
This song's for us, for the sincere,
for those who step up, and face a fear.
BROKEN ARROW
We're still here! I'm trying to understand,
why a love between a woman and man is all you see
are you listening?
I want you yo hear me, I want you to see me.
your whole "moral code" is dripping with agenda.
and political propaganda.
you don't want to know me, don't want to condone me.
I want to be the broken arrow,
that punctures the heart of your nuclear family,
I want to be the broken arrow,
push my way through make sure you can feel me.
Are you getting my point or should I sharpen my tip?
We're still here.
You tried to re-write our history,
put an end to unconventional love and families.
But, we're still here, you silenced the best of us.
we're still here, now face the rest of us.
We're still here, you over looked the best of us.
We're still here, now feel the rest of us.
FREAK THE MIGHTY
I never got the chance to tell you how I felt
how medication can't raise a generation of youth
who've been sold out by a culture
that won't tell them the truth
That there's something more, something pure,
something that can make them feel complete
your pills could never satisfy that urge
by suppressing their desire inside so deep
as profit driven agendas rise, how can you sleep?
too numb to feel their cold fingers
slip around you as i pry them away from me
and your fake smile, through rotting teeth
your pulsing breath, festering
leaving stains on my history
has taught me more about myself
that I could ever hope to learn from anyone else
or these desks and halls, these chairs and walls
I burned your books and i learned your lesson well
I never got the chance to tell you how i felt.
how i lashed out cuz i never found meaning in
living life for someone else
how i spaced out so i could get away.
