Старый и очень интересный коллектив, сформированный ещё в далёком 86-м году барабанщиком Alfredo Hernandez ( ex-Kyuss, ex-Queens of the Stone Age), басистом Mario Lalli (Fatso Jetson, Orquesta del Desierto, Across the River) и гитаристом Gary Arce (The Sort of Quartet, Oddio Gasser). Так же в записи альбомов принимали участие: Larry Lalli, Randy Rantaso, Billy Cordell (Unida, De-Con, The Whizards).

пару месяцев назад качнул сею банду с инфостора и сильно проникся их творчеством, мужики джемуют и плодят отменные психоделические и спейсовый мотивы, замешанные на сёрф роке. думаю многие уже слышали\слушали. по настроению немного похожи на Ten East

Задрот-коммент к ссылочке ill.e.gal'a: треклист правильный, но в файле Solar Incantation на самом деле Into The Wasteland и наоборот .
А, может быть, сами песни расположены правильно, как задумывалось. Тогда нужно просто переименовать 2 и 6 файлы.
В ревью на обелиске (http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2016/02/16/zun-burial-sunrise-review/) как раз говорится, что "Solar Incantation" - последняя песня на альбоме, а "Into The Wasteland" - первая для Sera Timms.

This very special recording session was done during the band's 2015 South American tour, while in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Yawning Man was invited to record for one evening at the world famous, legendary ION Studios. This session featured guest appearances by Argentenian Tango musicians Sara Ryan on violin, and Adolfo Trepiana on band one on accordion, and Malene Arce on the Mellotron.
An Argentinian newspaper once wrote that the “condensed history of the nations music“ was to be found behind ION’s doors, and they were spot-on with this description. Some of the country’s brightest musical legends, such as Astor Piazzolla have reacted like 'ions' with other musicians, and the energy that was released during this process condensed in the form of numerous classic records; hence, the namesake!
As the largest and most legendary sound studio in Buenos Aires, ION remains one of the most remarkable recording venues in the world. It’s energy is evident in the spontaneous, edgy beauty created by the band in this collaboration of special artists- in a very special place.
This album goes out to all of our good friends (especially ALL who generously donated towards the making of this album on IndieGoGo!), and we thank you all for being so excellent, supportive and loyal. We have given our heart and soul to this recording, and we couldn't have, wouldn't have done it without YOU!!!

Больше всего в новом альбоме понравилось то, насколько в тему им пришлись виолончель и аккордеон. Очень органично и приятно звучит. Хочу отметить ещё и то, что новый альбом действительно воспринимается как новый: их стиль узнаётся, но нет ощущения, что слушаешь всё то же, что у них и было уже. При всей любви и уважению к группе не всегда легко слушать их альбомы целиком, либо один за другим, несмотря на очень мягкое и расслабляющее звучание, слишком уж много у них треков, похожих друг на друга. А вот новинку прослушал несколько раз подряд с огромным удовольствием, куда более разнообразно зазвучали, это большой плюс.

Zun тоже понравились, но их пока не расслушал, всё внимание сконцентрировано пока на новом и совсем нежданном альбоме Мужиков.

альбом на голову выше виста пойнт, который по сути альбом одной песни, её мотива. другие кроме 2016 не слушал, поэтому сравниваю с тем, что знаю.
очень выросли чуваки.

Послушай ещё второй альбом "Nomadic Pursuits", мне он больше первого нравится.

очень хорошее определение

последний альбом расслушал на сразу, но крепко. эта гармонь очень освежает звучание, да и вообще, композиционно и гармонически, наверное, самый сильный их альбом. инструментальная версия Zun, которую можно было бы назвать Autumn Sessions

потому как это проект менее всего меня прёт из всего дезерт-крю.
первый их альбом с Бьорком на басу ещё куда ни шло, а второй, помнится, совсем мимо хотя, может, и стоит переслушать. давно это было.

И новый альбом тоже очень хорошо зашёл.
Особенно серединка хороша, начиная с "Planet Blues" и до "Stalactite Dip" .

...With a record like Skyline Pressure, because it is purely instrumental, it can appeal to an audience beyond the pop rock ones that are so verse-chorus-verse focused and perhaps limited by language.
We rehearsed for half a day with some loose ideas. We went in the very next day and just jammed our hearts out. We took the best of the best and made a record out of it. I always like doing music like that. To me, it speaks from the heart. It speaks off the cuff. We overthink stuff. It's like a painting. If you do a painting and you keep painting on it and painting on it, it loses its focus. But if you go with the moment, throw some splatters, go with it and walk away from it, there's this improvised feeling. You can always go and go a new one with a new feeling. If you sit there and you focus on one painting, and you try to dissect it and fine tune it, it loses its energy and its heart. I look at music like that. I approach music like that. I've always been that way. Go with your gut. Go with honesty...

A longtime dream has been to capture YAWNING MAN performing in the very environment that so inspired their music. The opportunity arose in 2020 from the challenges artists and musicians faced during the Covid 19 Pandemic, social distancing forcing artists to creatively adapt to alternatives to express themselves musically and visually.
Yawning Man ‘s answer to this calling is “Live at Giant Rock”.

This cinematic concert experience is intimately and beautifully captured by videographer Sam Grant in the environment that inspires Yawning Man’s spacious, expansive and cinematic music. Filmed live in the early morning hours of May 18th, 2020 in the visually stunning and mysterious landscape of Giant Rock.

In the spirit of Pink Floyd’s “Live at Pompeii” the performance is shot on location with no audience, just the band performing their instrumental meditations in the rugged beauty of the Mojave Desert.
Giant Rock in Landers California has attracted Native American Nomads, Scientists, UFO Researchers, and travelers from all over the world, drawn by its magnetic spiritual energy.
